This message was very strongly conveyed and was an integral part of the story throughout.Īnother thing I enjoyed about the book was the representation of small breasts and the concept of not shaving. Yet, at the end of it, she realises that even with her condition, she is who she is and that she should be proud of herself and not live being defined by Aspergers. At one point, our main character tries to change everything about herself that relates back to her condition. Throughout the book, there is also a strong focus on Stella coming to terms with her condition. In fact, the way Stella’s condition was written even went against some of these stereotypes (such as: people with autism cannot feel happiness or sadness). This is done through the portrayal of autism in the book the way the author wrote about the condition was one that did not align with common negative stereotypes of it. The Kiss Quotient relays a strong message that those with autism should not be defined by their condition, and that they are human first before anything else.

One thing I enjoyed about the book was the message it sent out. But as their feelings for each other deepen, what will these feelings mean in the light of their no-nonsense partnership? And most of all, will their love be able to prevail in the face of obstacles that threaten to tear them apart? You have to read the book to find out. The Kiss Quotient follows the love story of Stella and Michael as they navigate the boundaries of their fake relationship. Going into the fake relationship, both of them promise themselves that they will not fall for the other.īut alas, there wouldn’t be a book if they didn’t. However, after a night out with him, Stella changes her mind instead of teaching her how to be sexually capable, she wants Michael to teach her how to be a good girlfriend. Bad with relationships, especially the sexual aspect of them, Stella goes out of her way to hire Michael to teach her how to be good in bed. The Kiss Quotient follows Stella Lane, a 30-year-old woman with Aspergers, and Michael, a 28-year-old man with a father he wants to hide.
